Anxiety & Stress

Anxious moments come in all shapes and sizes – an important interview, a first date, starting college, buying a house – life is full of them. Usually, anxiety is temporary and resolves on its own as we move through life. We get over the rough spot and work our way back to normal. But sometimes life throws us a really big curve – a terminal diagnosis, a job loss, a global pandemic – and we can’t regain our balance.

When anxiety is chronic enough, for long enough, it can turn into stress.

Common symptoms of anxiety and/or stress may include:

  • Feeling restless, keyed-up, stressed-out, or on-edge

  • Feeling worried, overwhelmed, or out-of-control

  • Difficulty concentrating, or mind going blank

  • Feeling easily fatigued

  • Poor sleep or appetite

  • Muscle tension

  • Irritability

If you find yourself experiencing any of these symptoms, counseling can help you learn the tools and techniques you need to manage your anxiety, reduce the stress in your life, and cope more effectively with the ongoing challenges you face.
